Nexus 7 : How to stop automatic update on Google Play apps?
You might have noticed that, apps installed from Google play store are automatically getting updated in your Nexus 7 tablet without your confirmation. Though auto update provides new features and updates about the apps, sometimes we don’t want the auto updates. Is there a way to prevent this? Yes. Just follow the below instructions to stop the auto update.
1) Go to Google Play Store app in your tablet.
2) Click on the Menu button
3) Select “My apps”.
4) Select the app you want to disable auto update.
5) Un check “Allow auotmatic updating” option.
Thats it.

One feature that is missing from Google Play auto update is changelog. Often it is not clear what was added or changed in the app. I have created app that will fix that - it will show notification on any app update and allow you to easily browse What’s New section on Google Play.
